Churches
St. Anthony’s Church, the oldest Polish catholic church in Nebraska, is located at 103 Kearns Ave. The history and hardships of this Parish are very moving. The church, originally built in the country, was cut in half to be moved. One section slid off the moving runners into a creek bed and was pulled out with horse teams and a steam engine. The two halves were finally set in place with a 40 ft. gap in the center which became the new addition to the church at its present location. St. Anthony's celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2002 and is currently a mission. St Anthony's is a mission of Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St Paul, for more information contact 308.754.4002.
